[ARCHIVED] Finalists for City Administrator Announced

FINALISTS FOR ST. JOSEPH CITY ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCED:

 

The City of St. Joseph announces finalists for city administrator. The city has been seeking a replacement for Therese Haffner who resigned in the fall of 2022 to take a position as the Community Development Director for Big Lake.

The following individuals were selected as finalists for the position of city administrator.  

David Murphy: Currently the City Administrator for East Grand Forks, a community of 8,609, Murphy has twenty-five years serving local governments including serving as City Administrator for the cities of Belle Plaine and Hector, and serving as an appraiser for McLeod County. Mr. Murphy has a Bachelor of Arts in Law Enforcement, a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Mankato State University.

Steven Jones: Currently the City Administrator for the City of Clara City. Jones has over thirty years of experience in local government, including serving as City Administrator for the cities of Montevideo and Mora and also as Community Development Director for the City of Bemidji. Mr. Jones has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Andrew Jackson University.

Finalists will be interviewed by the City of St. Joseph Mayor and City Council on Thursday, February 9, 2023.  There will be a public opportunity to meet the candidates from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the St. Joseph Government Center.
